Hello Everyone!
Today marks the 12th anniversary of Thought OpsLLC! The wild ride continues!
First, let me thank the co-travelers on a couple of my projects over the past 12 years! These are people that have either inspired, helped, worked for me, or that I’ve learned valuable lessons from and or mentored!
I could NOT have come this far without the support of my loving wife! She came up with name for my game – Rescue Bear Operation! However, she hates being in the spot light, so I will quickly move on. There are several critical MVPs over at Cascade Game Foundry that helped bring fantasy to reality. Thank you to Kathie Flood, Russ Glaeser, Robert Smiley, and Birney Mitchell! Without you guys’ Rescue Bear would still be on the back of a napkin! Literally…..
Some others that have been inspiring and helpful include Stuart Cunningham and Duke Schnepf. And I would be remiss if I didn’t thank industry Pioneers and Leaders such as Chris Taylor, who was very frank with me in saying that the proposition of making a video game is “Crazy” right before creating Thought Ops. Recently we’ve had some extra help and collaboration from a couple of new team players: Dillon Van Rensberg, and his brother Matthew (Matty)Loots! There are several others who have been extremely supportive as well, last but not least is (You) the community, that have taken the time to play my game, read my story, watch my videos, or thoughtfully consider my analysis of the industry trends I’ve covered now for going on 30 years.
A quick reflection of the past twelve!
Let’s face it, twelve years go by pretty fast! I created Thought Ops to pursue some personal dreams and to create content and consulting that’s fresh and original. And no joke, I knew things were looking grim on the horizon for a multitude of reasons in the corporate world over a decade ago. And here we are…. Ai disruption anyone? In spite of all that, I’ve launched a website, a video game on Steam (soon to be on iOS once and for all), almost done with a trademark, and created over a few thousand pages of content on my World of Hope story, outlines, inspiration maps, and concept art. An army of one on the latter project, but well worth the effort. It took Tolkien over 7 years to kick out the Hobbit, and as a world class author that continues to inspire me every day! So it’s tough to come to realization that with Covid, and some setbacks on my Kick-Starter for the game, that I have to remain patient and constantly remind myself that I’m in a marathon, and not a sprint. I'm VERY excited to see what's in store for Thought Ops over the next 12 years!
In closing! Thank you again everyone for your continued support! Look forward to more content and announcements coming soon! Spread the word!
Sincerely,
Matt
